OK, so this is what happens when you hook up with a pair of ski hippies for a hike.

Wanaka to Fox Glacier is renowned as on of the most scenic drives in New Zealand as it takes in Lake Hawea, Lake Wanaka and the awesome Haast Pass – which is why I suggested that we should definitely do it during daylight.

But the guys had a different plan and hen I arrived to collect them in Wanaka they were busy packing for an expedition, including all of their ski gear. I know for a fact that of the two sets of skis, none were used whilst they were away.

So, we set off at about 6, and by the time we arrived in Haast it was clear, and made even clearer by the guy in the pub that we were screwing up by doing this drive at night and it was decided that the best thing to do do would be too sleep on Haast Beach.

It was cold, it was definitely colder than -1.25 because that is the bottom tolerance of my sleeping bag – and I didn’t sleep for cold.

But, I got these photos which I really like.

This is definitely my most successful star shoot to date, It is about my fifth.

One of my favourite things to do is wander the streets taking pictures, especially if it is a place that I am unfamiliar with. I have been privileged to visit lots of new places in the last four years, you will find images from some of those places on this page. I also really enjoy visiting places that I am very familiar with and seeing the change, streets are incredibly dynamic places.
