When I think of street photography I think of creepy people with zoom lenses taking pictures of people without their knowledge or permission. I am interested in that, and there are lots of inspiring examples of that kind of street photography. However, I am also very interested in privacy and I have experienced people objecting to having their photographs taken in the street, especially in Morocco, and if there are children around people can get very upset, and I respect that.
So the photographs I take in the street are a little bit different. I am much more comfortable photographing street art, performance and architecture. Streets are incredible places that are perhaps the most perfect expression of culture, history and politics and typically provide the opportunity for interesting images at any time of the night or day.
One of my favourite things to do is wander the streets taking pictures, especially if it is a place that I am unfamiliar with. I have been privileged to visit lots of new places in the last four years, you will find images from some of those places on this page. I also really enjoy visiting places that I am very familiar with and seeing the change, streets are incredibly dynamic places.
I hope you enjoy these images, if you do please feel free to like and share and check out the blog where you will find more examples of my street photography.
